This was the first appearance of the new Medford degree team In uniform. > About twelve loyal yoemen headed by District Manager Stockner drove from Klamath Falls to be In Medford to see the work put on. Medford had a nice class ready and they were given the work In fine shape. The Yoemen hall was taxed to its ca*clty. Short talks were given for the benefit of the newly made members by State Manager J. H. Ezell, Mr. Stockner of Klamath, Mr. Yareran of Ashland Home stead, Mr. George Center, fore man Medford Homestead; J. H. Welsh, state vice president of Medford, and Mr. Doyyns, cap tain of the degree team. Next month Medford will have a film for another large meet ing. Portland Banker Gives Praise of Barnard Joy Barnard Joy, who recently won first prize In the essay contest on marketing, was high ly praised in a letter which J. W. CcCoy, of this clty^ received from Andrew Miller, secretary of the Oregon Bankers’ associa tion, which was one of the principal agencies In sponsoring the essay contest. Part of Mr. Miller’s letter stated:> “At the contest Saturday night the lad from your district distinguished himself. Mr. Joy was head and shoulders over anyone else on the program and I» awarding him first place and the cash prise, I think he has won great honors for Southern Oregon. No doubt proper hon ors will be shown him on bis return. Today he spoke at the Forum Meeting of the Chamber, giving quite a portion of his speech. At the conclusion he was given an ovation exceeding anything I have witnessed at the chamber for months. Yon must be very proud of him.
